IMO Framework

Understanding IMO rules beyond inspections for Iraqi vessels

Understanding IMO Standards

The International Maritime Organization (IMO) issues conventions and codes adopted by flag states, which are then enforced by class societies and port state control. CME aligns its services with these instruments to ensure vessels operating in Iraq remain acceptable to international trade partners.

Key instruments we consider
  • SOLAS

  • MARPOL (for port/offshore units receiving services)

  • ISM Code (for safety management support)

  • ISPS considerations for port access

  • STCW links for crew-related training (you can hint at future training)

  • We prepare vessels and operators ahead of class/PSC visits

  • We coordinate with the master/DPAs

  • We provide technical attendance for equipment that must comply with IMO-based requirements
